Downfall – The Early Years ist ein Compilation-Album der niederländischen Band The Gathering, in der Zeit vor Anneke van Giersbergen. Die Vinyls enthalten Promo-Songs von 1993 vom Album "Almost A Dance" mit Bart Smits am Gesang, die unveröffentlichte 7" EP 1991, die Demos von Moonlight Archer & An Imaginary Symphony sowie Live-Aufnahmen und ein Cover von Celtic Frost. Stillistisch ist es etwas schwer einzuordnen.
